TWO MONTHS

I LOVE: eating, kicking my feet high into the air, eating my hands, bringing my hands together, smiling, eating, being sung (loves ABCs!) & read to, hitting dangling things from my play mat, peeing & pooping, unexpectedly taking a nap when mommy hits her breaking point and realizes a nap isn't going to happen (also included in this is crying as soon as mommy lays down to try to attempt a nap), sleeping in my Rock N Play, falling asleep in someones arms, and staring at lights and ceiling fans

I DON'T LOVE: taking naps during the day, my car seat, taking a bottle, being laid somewhere away from mommy and daddy, pacifiers unless I'm really losing it in my car seat, my crib, being startled (and I startle easily),socks, and getting my neck cleaned (daddy calls me stinky chin or stinky neck)

MILESTONES:

  • celebrated daddy's 30th birthday on 4/4
  • first big holiday - Easter - on 4/5
  • first WE NEED A CHANGE OF CLOTHES blowout 4/6
  • started eating her hands and putting them together around 3/30
  • started kicking her feet in the air and trying to touch them with her hands
  • bats her hands when she doesn't want something
  • can hold head up for a lot longer now
  • officially packed away the Newborn clothes :(
  • weighs 11 pounds and grew another inch - now 23 in long! 50th percentile for weight and 70th for height
Here are pictures of the 203439 I take a day. :)  We love you, Everleigh Ann!

First overalls!

She took a pacifier...for 2 minutes!

Scary Easter bunny...I'd cry too :)

Parenting...so far

What I've learned/thought:

1. Why are stop lights suddenly 20 minutes long? Doesn't it know I have a screaming infant who NEEDS the moving car vibrations to sleep? How rude.
2.  THIS
3.  My child doesn't sleep during the day. Like today, she slept maybe 30 minutes all day. This makes it hard to get anything done. She does, of course, take long naps when daddy is home over the weekend. This makes me look crazy when I tell Ryan I haven't been able to do anything all day except keep our child alive.
4. An hour of alone/me time is gold these days. Almost as heaven like as being able to pump 3 extra ounces in one pump session. Almost.
5. The love family and friends have shown for Everleigh truly makes me feel humbled and so blessed.
6. She cries when she's tired and that's the silliest thing to me. If you're tired, go to sleep baby!
7. My love equally grows for Everleigh and Ryan every day...even on days where I want to kill them both. :)
8. I'm still feeding two, therefore I'm allowed to eat all day when I have two hands and 10 minutes.
9.  The last 10 baby pounds are going to be hard to lose. See #8.
10. Nothing is on my schedule anymore. NOTHING.  my world revolves around her, especially since she can't even make it 2 hours some times between feelings.
11. Her smiles melt me. Daddy better be the stern one.
12.  Her coos melt me. She's already trying so hard to have a conversation.
13. I'm getting really good at diaper changes. It's a good day when she can stay in an outfit the entire day.
14. I used to get 8 hours of sleep every night. Encore pregnancy. Now, I wonder how long it will be before I sleep again  I've had 1 6 hour stretch in 2 months, and that's because Ryan took her for a while so I could sleep. I miss sleep. A lot.
15. The dogs have suddenly become a whole lot more annoying.

Now here's a cute picture to leave you with:

She just woke up in thee morning and was all smiles :)
