NASCAR

Ryan and I went to our first NASCAR race last night.  My dad just happened to win tickets on the radio and graciously gave them to us since it was something we've talked about going to before.  The tickets were for great seats and Ryan and I really had no idea what to expect about cars driving around in circles and a lot of drunk rednecks.

We were pleasantly suprised!

Please don't get me wrong...there were definitely a lot of rednecks.  Don't also get me wrong, please, that rednecks are a bad thing.

Why did we have fun? 1) People watching. 2) You can bring your own beer into the stadium. 3) The cars go really, really fast and it's crazy to see, in person, how crazy these drivers really are.

Here are some pics for you:

Shirtless? Check.  Jean shorts? Check.  Cooler of beer? Check.

The day couldn't of been nicer...sunny and 75!

Seats right in front of pit stops.  I can now name 3 NASCAR drivers!

Exactly what I was expecting to see, all rolled up into one person.

On another note, here are some other pics of what has been happening lately:

A mama giraffe at the Richmond zoo just had her baby and a friend snapped this pic the week they went back on exhibit.  Can't handle the cuteness!

Wiener dog between my legs when driving...she's so long her back legs were drooping over the seat.

Easter diner @ Maggiano's with my parents

Kings Dominion last weekend...we got season passes!  We're only an exit away so we plan on going a decent amount.  Ryan did this ride and it's the first one I've ever opted out of -- the older I get, the bigger my fear of heights becomes....

The life of being married to a chemist.  Feel bad for me.

The cake for Elliot & Riley's birthday party....I got sick a few days earlier and couldn't make the party :(

This dog...kills me...

Surprise trip to Boston for this girls 30th birthday party...and engagement!!

Blurry...I look fat...Lauren is hidden...but everyone that flew in to surprise Jess

Friends for over 10 years and we finally had our first flight together.  Boston is a cool city!

Speaking of sickness....that sucked.  I got a virus a couple of weeks back.  On Wednesday, I woke up not feeling well at all.  I had absolutely no energy, was having hot flashes then cold chills within minutes of eachother, and couldn't breath or taste anything.   I took a quick trip to Patient First, who confirmed I had a fever and it was some sort of Upper Respiratory Infection that just needed time to work it's way out of my system.  I attempted to work on Friday, but ended up going home only after a few hours.

I went to bed Saturday night, after missing my best friend's little girls birthday party, around 8pm.  At some point that night, I woke up DRENCHED in sweat from head to toe.  I've never, ever had this before, so I figured I either a) peed myself b) was dying or c) my body was doing something crazy because of my sickness.

After a quick Google, I realized it was a good thing because that meant my fever was finally breaking.  Sunday morning, after I woke up, I felt like I had my energy back and I could attempt to eat something other than crackers or soup.

For someone who never gets sick, I. was. miserable.  I have to say Ryan did a great job of taking care of me, and he didn't laugh at me too much when I reached a breaking point and started crying because I felt so sick but had really no medicine to help me.  He made me food, brought me medicine, and continuously checked on me.  He lived up to his vows "through sickness and health", and hopefully that's the last of the sickness we'll see around for a long while!

Update through Pictures

So, I know it's been forever since I've updated this thing.  It is partly because I've been busy, partly lazy, and partly I fell so far behind I didn't know where to begin again.

But first of all, can I just say how happy I am that, being almost 30 years old, I've FINALLY found a face cleaner that works for me?  Can I get an Amen?

Yup, Cetaphil.  I think I first heard about Cetaphil when a pubescent elementary school classmate told me about it.   The thought never crossed my mind that I should try this out and see why so many billions of people use this stuff.  The other secret to my success?

I found a bottle of this stuff in my "junk" basket from when a friend who worked for Clinique gave a bunch of free samples over a girls weekend.  Figuring I had nothing to use, I started using it with Cetaphil and my skin stopped flaking and being all extra-dry on me almost immediately.

Oh yeah, and you can't forget this:

I love all $5.44 of this baby.

Now that I'm actually thinking about it, I should of known that paying $35 for a small thing of face wash and taking trips to the dermatologist wouldn't make any sense for me.  I'm a low maintenance kinda gal, and that means my skin isn't any different. :)

On another note,  here are some pictures of stuff to keep you occupied (in no particular order):

laziness at it's finest

Snow.  In February.

Best friends night in Richmond <3 p="">

Baby Jack!

Baby Landon!

Our boys...minus Ashley :(

We will never grow tired of photo booths

Truth

Princess breakfast for the birthday girl, Rena!

Audrey!

Pony party for the bithday girl!  Rena turned 3 in March <3 p="">

In her Chef outfit I made her...I don't own a sewing machine so it's probably already pretty beaten up :)

The in laws came into town for a long weekend and we took a trip to Charlottesville...perfect day!

Girls weekend...little miss cutie Norah enjoying the one day of sun we had in a strech of snow/rain for 2 weeks!
I feel eyes on me EVERYWHERE I go....this might be part of the reason.
