On the Road Again

There's one thing I'm consistent at, and that would be being inconsistent with keeping up with this blog. :)

In my defense, we've been a little busy lately with our move in December and some traveling in between.  We took a 3 day trip to Tennessee to surprise my in laws for Christmas, went to Dallas, TX for a wedding Ryan was in, I went to Rockville for work and Ryan is currently in Florida for work until Friday.

So, instead of me trying to think about what to write about, I'll just share some recent pictures. :)

Zoe turned 7 on 1/10.  My old girl. We couldn't find any Frosty Paws at Wal Mart, so we ended up buying her a .50 cent Clearance Christmas plastic toy.  Did I mention I have a frugal husband? ;)

A guy I work with thought it'd be funny to take an entire box of business cards & tape them under my top file drawer.  I open up the drawer and bam....guess who picked all of those up?  Not me.

Rena is having her 3rd birthday party with ponies...she is getting her practice in now!

Almost 7 years with this man...the little things will always mean the most <3 p="">
My friend Cindy gave birth to her 3rd child on Thursday.  The same day, my coworker gave birth to her boy, Jack, and another coworker in NoVa gave birth to her boy!  So exciting and crazy 3 baby boys born all on the same day.

Peak of a day in the life of living with Samson.  In your face. every. day.

When he isn't in your face, he's hiding in closets with his paws crossed.

Work trip...lucky to have amazing coworkers

Why I enjoy my job?  While most people are stuck in an office, I was out touring the Cumberland Plantation today with a client who is renovating their home build in the 1700s.  Sales has it's perks, I promise.

2013: The good, the bad & the ugly

I have mixed feelings about 2013.  Some things that happened were really great, but then there were parts of the year that really, really sucked.  To recap:

January
-We celebrated the first New Year in our new house

February
-Ryan surprised me on Valentine's Day with flowers and making a nice dinner. I got my first Pandora bracelet with a few charms (Home is where the <3 is="" p="">
March
-Celebrated Rena's second birthday in Maryland at Chris & Emily's house
-Went on a week long cruise and drank/slept away our stresses...it was awesome

April
-Celebrated Ryan's 28th birthday & my 1 year anniversary with work

May
-Met my newborn niece, Audrey, for the first time.  I was incredibly excited to be able to go up the day she was born -- we lived in Kansas City when Rena was born and didn't meet her until she was almost a month old.
-Hosted a Dalton family reunion at our house - we got to see cousins & Aunt's that we hadn't seen in a while and got to meet some new family members

June
-Celebrated my 29th birthday.
-Had a brief girls weekend in TN with my mother in law, sister in law, and other ladies from the Hibbard side.

July
-Celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary!  We kept it low key and I honestly can't even remember what we gifted each other with.
-Went to Asheville, NC for our annual girls weekend...incredibly lucky to have such wonderful girlfriends.

August
-Met with a financial planner for the first time.  Official grown-up status achieved.

September
-Samson found his forever home with us. The first couple weeks he was with us we're ready to send him back.  Lucky for us, and him, he's adjusted and everyone is as happy as clams.
-Ryan and I celebrated being a couple for 6 official years!  Woah.

October
-Decided to start to try and sell our new house.  Ryan officially leaves his job at HDL for a great opportunity at Quantico.

November
-Ryan leaves his job at Quantico to go work a better opportunity at AP Hill.
-Our house is officially listed and we began the daunting task of cleaning up after ourselves constantly & taking the dogs on quite a few extra walks for a showing.
-We take our first trip to Carter Mountain in Charlottesville and we don't bring home one apple.  The donuts, however, are fantastic.

December
-Officially SOLD our first home after only being there for a year and 2 months.  We closed on December 15th and moved to Ruther Glen, VA to be closer to work.
-We surprise my in laws, Ron & Kim, with a trip to TN for a few days.  We were there from Wednesday to Saturday and had a great time.  They give the best Christmas gift EVER by telling us we're taking a family trip to Disney in October!
-My Aunt Barbara died on Christmas Eve and we put her to rest on New Year's Eve.  We will all miss her so much and I'm still so, so sad she's gone.  She was a beautiful person and will cherish the memories I had with her.  My Uncle Paul made this video to remember their time together...

I have no idea what's in store for 2014, but I have high hopes.  As far as New Years Resolutions go, I really just hope that I get healthy and start running again.  I want to let go of the friends that don't bring positive things into my life and treasure and cherish that ones that do.  I want to strengthen family relationships and not stress over the small things.  Oh, and I want to take more baths in the gigantic tub in our master bath. :)

Happy New Year!!!! Please be good to us, 2014.
