We're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack, and I finally have a minute to put some pictures up!
Our cruise was nice & relaxing. I was afraid 5 nights might feel a little short, but I was actually ready to get home and have my own bed!
We left last Friday and had a chance to stay in Ft Lauderdale for a night. Since we booked our cruise through Priceline, they had a promo where we could get a hotel voucher that pretty much paid for a night. By the time we got our rental car and got to the hotel, it was close to 4 and realized we wouldn't have time for a water taxi like everyone suggested we should do. So instead, we checked into our room and went out to Las Olas Blvd to explore the town. Considering we were in Miami about a year and half before this trip, Ryan and I both definitely enjoyed Ft Lauderdale more than it's neighbor Miami.
Cruise = no working out and no calorie counter. We ate A LOT at the Big City Tavern that night and then decided to stop at a crepe place for dessert. The following morning we checked out, got some wine for the boat (never even drank it), ate at an amazing hole in the wall bagel place, then headed to our freaking huge boat.
We were told we'd be able to check in, but we ended up having to wait and didn't get on the boat until probably a little after 12 on Saturday. We explored, we drank (thanks all inclusive drink package...because of you I had heart burn for 2 days after the cruise), we zip lined, we ate, we cave-tubed, we slept, we fed sting rays, we drank, we slept, we ate, and we drank. And we did NOT get tan.
Onto pictures:
The best shot of Las Olas Blvd you've ever seen
Cool food bouquet on the ship
Ready to start our vacay
I thought the bathroom in the hotel was cool, Ryan made fun of me for taking a picture of it.
View of our rizzooooom! Way bigger than the last cruise we were on!
View of the Promenade from our room. Was this a boat or a skyscraper in NYC?
Cool interactive maps were everywhere. I'd like to thank one of the drunk spring breakers for changing half of them to French 2 days into the cruise.
We're on a boat! A freakishly windy boat who fed us too many drinks!
Ft Lauderdale
View of the Promenade. Again, is this a ship or what?
I loved signing every single one of these. Notice my last name? They had to change it since I never got a new Passport card after getting married!
Princess Fiona!!
cute Titanic music
Goofy Shrek bumped into Princess during the parade
You can't tell from this picture, but we had 50 mph winds the first day, so it was kind of cold and kind of miserable trying to enjoy the outdoors. Guess who slabbed a little sunscreen on his stomach and got incredibly burnt the first day?
Reminders on the elevator as to what day it was...thought it was cool!
CAN YOU SPOT THE BLACK & TAN WEINER DOGGIE?? Why was there a Zoe on this boat and how come I didn't know I could bring my boogs?
Hi boogs
Formal night...couldn't find any good spots since the professionals took up the good areas. To answer your question, yes I'm pregnant and the little beans name is SOMUCHFOOD
On our way to explore Belize
Oooooh just some military men walking around with huge machine guns...not a huge fan of the country, but our excursion was fun!
Mountains where there are a lot of Mayan remains...looks like a sleeping giant
I didn't get a picture of us zip lining for the first time, but I did make sure I got a pic of our authentic Belize food. Priorities, people!
You have to see it to Belize it! Unbelizable!
Authentic Belize beer
No pictures of cave tubing :( We got to jump off of a rock into pretty water at the beginning of the cave, and I loved it! We tubed through about .25 miles of pitch black cave with only a headlamp...imagine stalagmites, fruit bats, and a very frustrated Ryan because I'm not good at paddling on a tube.
View of our ship from afar
Docked @ Cozumel - Our ship to the left, another RC ship to the right
Where we did our sting ray excursion - again, no picture of us with the rays :(
Had the best tequila shot...told some random group walking in as we were leaving to try the $6 shot and ended up sitting with them at dinner the next day! Small world!
Close your eyes, kids
How tan are we!
sail away, sail away, sail away (you're singing that song, aren't you?)
Ice skating show...doing this on a boat is a little daunting
Our room attendant Walbert had no idea we had Zoe...I was starting to think that this was a sick, sick game
wa-wa-wa-wiiiipeout
Mini golf!
Once we got back from our trip, I left the next morning to go to Maryland to help celebrate my niece Rena's 2nd birthday! I will post pictures of her big day soon, but this took entirely too long so I'm done for the night!
