I finally got around to painting my "office" on Sunday. I say "office" because I've rarely worked from home in there, but there's at least a desk and a printer which makes it as much as an office as it will probably ever be. More babies have spent time in that room than I have, and I'm okay with that.
The paint before wasn't terrible, but there's something about the blue and brown stripes I couldn't deal with any longer.
I went to Hobby Lobby (my new fav store...seriously can't get enough of it) and picked out some fabric I like. It took me probably almost an hour to finally decide on something I was content with. I picked up some good old $6 cheapo frames that were on sale for 50% off and headed on over to Lowe's to pick out the paint color.
To accurately paint the picture (DO YOU GET IT? :) ):
I walk into Lowe's and find the paint section. The Valspar paint color section looked the biggest and brightest so I went straight there and found the first aqua color I thought was pretty and would match well with my fabric inspiration. I moseyed on over to the counter, told the guy I needed a gallon in whatever paint + primer he liked the best, and peaced outta that joint.
Things like this make me realize I'm not the typical female shopper.
My goal was to have a bright and cheery office space. It isn't done yet, hence the empty picture frames, but here's an idea of what the room looks like now:
The best part about this project is that I only got paint on the ceiling 3 different times, and only spilled on the carpet once! I call that a win!
On another note, here's a pic of a funny prank a coworker thought up today:
Hold up...those aren't the awards I saw up on his desk yesterday...HAHA!
My next house project I want to tackle is to stain the master bathroom counters because the honey oak is starting to drive me crazy! All I have to go off of are some directions from something I found on Pinterest, so wish me luck!
