Work is going well. Tomorrow is Week 5 at work which means I still have 3 more weeks of training. ADP does their training as a virtual class where we have a live personal trainer who conducts everything through a webinar. It's good, but since I'm doing actual work during the day, that leaves some of my nights tied up with completing quizzes and such before it's due the following day!
Ryan starts his new job tomorrow! I'm glad that he was able to have a few weeks off to just relax and adjust to being back in the states. He can't honestly say he's excited about this job, but I hope it will make him happy enough to stick with it until he can find something a little more up his ally. It's a great company to work for and we're both just happy that we have jobs in this still crappy economy.
I'm so thankful he's given me the opportunity to be back home where I'm happiest. He's sacrificed a lot for us and I can only hope a job opens up that pays him back for his sacrifices, ten fold.
To kick off the start of summer and to end Ryan's freedom, we took a trip to Mississippi. One of Ryan's fraternity brothers and good friends, Chase, hosted a Memorial Day weekend at his parents lake house near Jackson, MS. It was hot hot hot, but soooo much fun! We hadn't really seen any of his friends since our wedding (almost 2 years...woah!) and even then we didn't get quality time.
We did lots of grilling out, staying out in the sun, swimming in the lake, and too much drinking. I'll let the pics speak for themselves:
I have a lot more pictures from the weekend that I could post, but some people might get mad :) It was definitely a much needed extended weekend getaway!
The weekend before, I had the honor of being present for one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever been to. My best friend's mom, Lisa, has always been a second mother to me. I grew up with Nikki, which clearly means I pretty much grew up with Nikki's brother & sister as well as have Lisa raise me.
Lisa has been dating Neil for years now. They're such a happy couple and so caring. Neil was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago and has had a few setbacks with his fight. They've been engaged for a while but hadn't really ever settled on a date. They decided on a Thursday that they would have a small ceremony and get married in 2 days.
It was so intimate and so heartfelt. I'm so glad that Lisa has found someone that makes her so happy and I'm in awe of their support for eachother. Congratulations, Lisa & Neil! Thank you for letting me share in your day!
