Our little digger

Zoe has figured out that our pillows are the best little digging objects ever. It doesn't help that we encourage her, but I can't help but think she's so cute! Note the higher my voice gets, the faster she digs.

Married Life

I hope everyone had a nice St. Patty's Day!! I spent it at work and so did Ryan :(  St. Patty's Day makes me think of college days at BTs!

Today I finally had a day off work after working through the weekend and for 6 days straight.  I did get to sleep in until 10:30, which I NEVER do, so I know my body must of really needed the rest!

I thought I was going to have a relaxing day off, but then I immediately started thinking about all of the things I needed to do.  ALL day I drove around running errands (aaand I forgot to get Zoe's nails clipped - oops!). I then came home and did 6 loads of laundry and cooked dinner.  I started to think and try to figure out why my day's off now never feel like days off.  Here's what I came up with:

1-My job doesn't allow a day off.  I'm in constant communication with my store, and even when I'm not there I'm thinking about something I need to do when I get back to the store.
2- I'm married now and responsible for 2 lives instead of 1 (3 if we count Zoe :) ).  This means twice as much laundry, twice as much follow up on errands, and twice as much food & dishes.
3- I share a bank account now.  Before on my days off, I would come up with something crafty to do or go shopping.  Now that I have a sweet husband who likes to save much more than we spend, I have to think twice about this now.  I have to remind myself that we want a house much more than I need a cute new outfit.  No shopping = no fun.

So, there we have it.  Does anyone else feel this way?? If I'm feeling this way about my day's off now, what am I going to do when we have a kid???

I don't want this post to sound negative, so I'll end on a positive note - "God never said it was going to be easy, He just said it would be worth it."

Our first car together!!! :)

We finally did it.  I had to say goodbye to Miss Nelly II and welcome Miss Nelly III.  I would say it was bittersweet getting rid of Miss Nelly II, but I can't say I miss her yet.

Our new car is just wayyyyyyy to beautiful and way too nice!! I think we'll enjoy it more when we get used to making the car payments!

I may, or may not of, drove around Overland Park today just because I enjoy driving it so much :)

Zoe loves it too!  The only problem:  she think's it's the same height as the Sunfire, so when she jumps up to get inside, she bangs her head then accidently does a backflip onto the pavement because she isn't tall enough.  Ouch.

I took a few pictures on my day off today while at the dog park.  Check out our new beauty:

We bought the car from Ron Hibbard Toyota in TN.  Kim & Ron drove the car to St. Louis so we could sign the paperwork and pick up the car.  We took this picture right before we said our goodbyes.

Miss Nelly III

Loooove the inside.

We now want 5 kids because of the room in the car :)

We're very blessed to be in a position to get this car, and I plan on keeping this car for a long, long time! It looks good to have another "first" together, even after being together over 3 years.  I love our first car together <3

Fun Video

I was doing some research for work on YouTube, and came across this awesome commercial.  I've seen it before, but it's been years and it always makes you leave feeling fun and happy.

I hope you enjoy.  There is another video on YouTube on how the commercial was made if you're interested.

Blogger isn't letting me post the video, so here's the link:

So Healthy...

...or not.

With my new working lifestyle, I've noticed I haven't been eating healthy AT ALL.  I've never been overly conscious with watching what I eat, but my intake of fruits and vegetables is seriously lacking.

Take today, for example.  The only fruit and/or vegetable I've had is this:

That's an orange in a Blue Moon beer.

I take Women's One a Day vitamins to help the deficit, but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be doing that.  I would buy more fruits and veggies at the grocery store, but they go bad so quickly and I a lot of times I just frankly forget to eat them.

A lot of days, I'm rushed getting to work or finding time to eat lunch at work.  Because of this, I usually choose options that are quick and easy.

So, does anyone have any suggestions on how to eat healthier without Ryan and I starving to death?

Laura, I'm sorry.

Happy.

Maybe it's because I finally have a day off tomorrow after working 7+ days in a row, but whatever the reason, I can't help but feel happy.

Again, maybe it's the day off that has me feeling this way right now.  After working hard, I think knowing having a FULL 10+ hours to do whatever the heck I want will do it.

It also might have something to do with a car.

Yes, a car :) :)

Ryan has finally agreed that a car is in my future.  We have decided on a very beautiful, fully loaded 2010 Toyota Rav4.  I can't wait to meet it and decide if she looks like a Miss Nelly or not :)

Funny story - we were at our Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University class on Monday.  We mentioned our defeat by starting a car loan, and we had not one, but TWO couples interested in buying my old but sweet high school car.  Talking about debt.

Anyway, I'm very happy to say that I like my job, like the fact I'm off tomorrow and Saturday, and so excited to get a car I'm going to enjoy and will be able to rely on.  I'm also happy to know I'll be headed to MD in just 3 weeks to meet my new niece!

On top of this, my college girlfriends and I are planning a girls trip the 4th of July weekend.  I also have something planned for October for a girls weekend with my mother in law, sister in law, and aunts.

This has felt like an incredibly long winter, and I can't wait for what's in store with this summer!!!! There's nothing but smiles coming from this girl's face :) :) :) :) :)
